Local Chapters
The Arc of Virginia is proud to have 21 hard-working local
chapters around the Commonwealth.
The Arc and its chapters are each separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with their own staff and boards of directors. Across Virginia, local chapters vary—some are volunteer-led, some offer direct services, and all provide vital support and connection for people with developmental disabilities and their families.
If there’s no chapter in your area, don’t worry—The Arc of Virginia serves the entire state, and you can still be an active part of the movement.
Joining a local chapter automatically enrolls you as a member of The Arc of Virginia and The Arc of the United States. Membership is open to self-advocates, families, professionals, and anyone who believes in promoting the rights and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities. Being part of a chapter connects you to a support network and a community working for change.
