Family Support for the Earliest Years
Welcome to New Path
Becoming a parent is a wonderful and life-changing experience! From first smiles to tiny milestones, every moment matters. But when you're facing questions about your child’s development, knowing where to turn can feel overwhelming.
That’s where New Path comes in.
New Path is The Arc of Virginia’s statewide initiative supporting families of infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) with developmental delays or disabilities. We believe families are the most important voice in a child’s life—and they deserve support, education, and advocacy as they navigate Early Intervention services.
New Path focuses on offering peer-to-peer support designed to empower, educate, and connect families.

Dear Parents,
I want to take a moment to remind you that you are not alone on this journey. As a parent who has navigated Early Intervention myself—starting the day my son came home from the NICU at just four weeks old—I understand how overwhelming, isolating, and emotional this time can feel. I remember the uncertainty, the questions, and even the guilt that can come with watching your child face challenges.
What I also know is the difference that support can make. Through Early Intervention services and the guidance we received, our family found a path forward—and I truly cannot imagine where we would be today without that support.
I am here to walk alongside you as you navigate your own “New Path.” My goal is to connect you with helpful resources, share information, and support your family’s overall well-being in a way that feels meaningful and manageable. Through New Path Family Support Network, we are committed to standing beside you every step of the way.
With care and support,
Robin Church
