The Arc of Virginia, a grassroots organization, has been on the front lines of making change happen for people with developmental disabilities (DD) for over 65 years.  With The Arc of the US and our network of local Arcs in Virginia, The Arc of Virginia protects and promotes the rights of people through our public policy efforts that have achieved legislative victories for children and adults and their families on the local, state and federal level.  

Through education and activism with people with DD, families and other stakeholders and partners, The Arc of Virginia works to grow the Movement for A Life Like Yours so that all are afforded their rights and opportunities to live, learn, work, play and be fully included in the community.  

Individuals with disabilities, self-advocates, families and caregivers inform our advocacy work.  Together we research issues, we educate ourselves and others to understand the issues and provide the tools for advocacy and opportunities to make change.
