Creating Your Supported Decision-Making Agreement: A Step-by-Step Guide

Description:  Join us for this exciting webinar series on Supported Decision-making, presented by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

This virtual training series will be held once a week. During this series, you will get important information on how to develop a supported decision-making agreement (SDMA). SDMAs allow individuals with disabilities to exercise maximum independence and make choices and decisions about their own lives with support from the people they choose.  

When: This series is progressive, so we encourage you to register for and attend all four sessions.

April 18th - 6:30p - 7:30p

April 25th - 6:30p - 7:30p

May 2nd - 6:30p - 7:30p

May 9th - 6:30p - 8p

Who: This series is designed for individuals with disabilities, their families, and supporters.

DISABILITY POLICY SEMINAR - 2023

2023 is the start of a new Congress, which means many new opportunities to educate and advocate! There are 2 ways you can participate: 

Monday, April 24: Virtual Policy Programming and Training -  REGISTER at disabilitypolicyseminar.org 

This day of programming will deepen your knowledge about numerous issues affecting people with disabilities and predictions for the new Congress through experts and panels. You will also receive training about most effective practices to advocate for these priorities during your meetings with members of Congress.

May 1st - 10th:  Virtual Meetings with Congress Members - REGISTER HERE

For anyone who would like to meet virtually with their member of Congress to advocate for National issues, we will coordinate and schedule those meetings and provide you with materials and talking points prior to the meetings.
