Stephanie Singer
Stephanie Singer (they/them) is an autistic self-advocate from Norfolk, VA. Stephanie graduated from Virginia Wesleyan University in 2017 with a B.A. in Communications. They often credit their professors for starting them on the path of advocacy. Some of Stephanie's advocacy experience includes: membership in Our Voices, working as a Peer Mentor, giving an inclusion training to the City of Virginia Beach's therapeutic recreation department, speaking to state legislators on DD Advocacy Days, and presenting a breakout session about supported decision-making at The Arc of the United States National Convention. In addition to their advocacy, they hold a second-dan black belt in World Taekwondo, certified by the Kukkiwon. They train and teach children’s classes to neurodiverse populations at Park's Taekwondo Academy. Stephanie’s passion and energy while teaching and practicing Taekwondo is infectious, and they can’t wait to share that fighting spirit at the statewide convention!
