Kate began her work in this field 11 years ago and has worked in residential service, day support leadership, quality assurance, and medical advocacy. She is passionate about helping self-advocates fight for issues that affect the disability community at the state and national legislative levels. In addition, she works to build community partnerships to widen awareness about justice and equal access for the disability community. Prior to her work in the field, Kate received a Masters in Divinity from Emory University and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Theology and Ethics. She's served as a university, hospital, and hospice chaplain. Outside of work, you'll find Kate in a kayak, at the river, or rescuing elderly dogs.
