Joseph Singleton
Where I Live: Hampton
About Me:
My name is Joseph Singleton. I have lived with Cerebral Palsy all of my life, which has given me a unique perspective and a deep sense of empathy, especially when it comes to understanding and supporting others who are neurodivergent. I believe that our differences are our strengths, and I'm passionate about creating inclusive, welcoming spaces for everyone. I recently interned at Sentara CarePlex in Hampton through the Project SEARCH program, where I worked in two different departments (Imaging and Health Information Management), honing my communication, clerical, and technological skills. I also have a strong interest in technology and enjoy exploring creative projects, whether that's building something new virtually or finding innovative ways to solve problems. In my spare time I love watching movies, taking part in community activities, and spending quality time with my friends and family
Hobbies & Interests:
In my free time, I enjoy helping friends, family, and community members with tech support - it's something that I find both fun and rewarding. I'm also active in my church community and love spending time at some of my favorite spots such as Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, and Tropical Smoothie. I'm a big fan of dogs, especially Huskies, and I have a passion for cars - whether it's learning about them or spending time detailing my own. You'll often find me browsing online stores too; I enjoy the hunt for great finds and new gadgets!
Mentor Skills
I have a skill set in offering support and guidance to others as they navigate technology. Whether it's troubleshooting devices, teaching new digital skills, or helping someone gain confidence using everyday technology (cell phones, laptops, earbuds). I enjoy making technology more accessible and less intimidating. I'm patient, soft spoken, understanding, resourceful, and always happy to share what I know to help others succeed.
