Erika Rogers is a mother of ten, disability rights advocate, speaker, author, and founder of Abide Village. As a parent of four children with Down syndrome and eight children who have had IEPs, Erika brings a deeply personal understanding of the systems families navigate, including special education, Medicaid waivers, healthcare, disability services, and the transition to adulthood. Through her professional work with Delicate Home Health Corp., volunteer service with VCU’s Center for Family Involvement, and service on the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities, she brings together the perspectives of parent, provider, advocate, and community builder. Erika founded Abide Village from a desire to create an intentionally inclusive community where adults with disabilities and people with limited incomes can experience affordable housing, meaningful relationships, opportunities to contribute, and a true sense of belonging. Above all, Erika considers being a mom her greatest accomplishment, and her children continue to inspire her vision for a future where every person is known, valued, and included.
