Cassie Brown is the Worksite Coordinator for Community Knights' READY Program. She has a younger sister who has autism and an intellectual disability. Cassie watched her sister fight to be included. In high school, she coached a SmartOnes gymnastics class focused on working with young people with disabilities. In college, Cassie majored in mechanical engineering and minored in special and elementary education. After graduating, Cassie came back to Virginia. She supported her sister in volunteering at a public park and working at a bakery as her job coach. In both cases, it didn't take long for her sister to become proudly independent. At the same time, Cassie began working for Community Knights, helping design programs to support the disability community.
